श्री स्वामींची एक अद्भुत लीला!
जोशीबुवा गडगंज श्रीमंत होते. आपल्या श्रीमंतीचा त्यांना फार अभिमान होता.
तात्या वैद्य नावाचा गृहस्थ त्यांच्या घर-गडी म्हणुन राबत होता.
कारण त्यांनी जोशी बुवांकडून फार पैशे कर्ज म्हणुन घेतले होते. जोशीबुवांच कर्ज फेडून त्याला दोन वेळेचं जेवण ही महाग झालं होतं.
तरी तो उदार वृत्तीचा होता. एकदा तात्याला आणी त्याच्या बायकोला खायला एकच भाखरी होती, ती सुद्धा तो भूखेल्या कुत्र्याला देतो.
जोशीबुवा श्री स्वामींना आपल्या घरी नेवैद्य ग्रहण करायला या, असं आमंत्रण करतात.
श्री स्वामी त्याला म्हणतात- “पैशाची श्रीमंती आहे, पण मनाची नाही!” “जा आधी मनाची श्रीमंती घेऊन ये”.
जोशीबुवांना परतताना सुंदराबाई अडवतात आणी स्वामींना तुमच्या घरी आणीन असं आश्वासन देतात.
त्याच्या मोबदल्यात सुंदराबाईंना सोन्याच्या मोहरा मिळतात.
सुंदराबाई स्वामींना जोशीबुवा कडे चलायला विनवणी करते. श्री स्वामी सुंदराबाईची कृती जाणून असतात, तरीही ते होकार देतात.
तात्याला जेव्हा हे कळतं तेव्हा तो जोशी बुवांना आपल्यालाही स्वामींना घरी बोलवायची इच्छा आहे, असं सांगतो.
त्यासाठी तो काही पैसे मागतो. जोशीबुवा जाम भडकतात:- “अरे स्वताच्या खायचे ठिकाणे नाही, आणी स्वामींना बोलावणार.”
जोशी बुवांनी पैशे नाही दिले म्हणुन तात्या निराश होतो. दुसऱ्या दिवशी स्वामी जोशीबुवा कडे येतात.
जोशी बुवा स्वामींना नेसायला अत्यंत महागडं पितांबर देतात, आणी यथासांग आदरातीथ्य करतात.
त्यांच्या मनात एक प्रश्न येतो कि स्वामी जातांना आपलं महागडं पितांबर तर नाहीना घेऊन जाणार.
तितक्यात स्वामी क्रोधित होतात, पितांबर काढुन जोश्यांच्या तोंडावर फेकतात. आणी नेवैद्य ग्रहण न करता परततात.
जोशीबुवा क्षमा मागायला येतात.
स्वामी म्हणतात- “अरे ऐश्वर्यात लोळुन तुझं मन मलीन झालं आहे. अरे तुला काय वाटलं नेवैद्य ग्रहण करुन आम्ही तो पितांबर घेऊन जाणार? चल निघ इथून.”
इकडे तात्या घरी येऊन पत्नीला सगळं प्रकरण सांगतो.
तिकडे एक व्यक्ती येऊन जोशी बुवांना तात्यांनी घेतलेली रकम देऊन तात्याला कर्ज मुक्त करतो.
जोशीबुवांना तो आपण तात्याचा हितचिंतक आहे, असं सांगतो. तात्या घरातल्या देवघरात असलेली एकमेव मूर्ती विकून मिळणाऱ्यारकमेनी स्वामींचं आदरातिथ्य करण्याचं ठरवतो.
तो ती मुर्ती उचलतो. त्याच्या बायकोच्या भावना उचंबळून येतात.
ती म्हणते- “देवघर रिकामं कसंतरीच दिसतं आहे.”
तात्या म्हणतो- “अरे स्वामी जीवंत देव असतांना, मुर्तीचा काय विचार करते. मी देवघरचं बाजूला उचलून ठेवतो.”
खाली पाहतो तर काय! तिथे त्याला स्वर्ण मोहरांची पिशवी सापडते.
तात्या म्हणतो- “हा स्वामींचा चमत्कार आहे, स्वामींचं आदरातीथ्य करुन शिल्लक उरलेली रकम आपण स्वामींनाच अर्पण करू.” तितक्यात त्याला एक हाक ऐकू येते-” तात्या………”
तात्या बाहेर जाऊन पाहतो तर काय! खुद्द स्वामी बाळप्पा बरोबर त्याच्या घरी न बोलवता आले आहे.
तो पत्नीसह स्वामीचरणी मस्तक ठेवतो.
तितक्यात एक माणूस येऊन तात्याला सांगतो को तुझ्या पूर्वजांची जमिनीचा विवाद संपून ती जमीन आता तुला प्राप्त झाली आहे, आणी त्याशिवाय कोणीतरी तुझ्यावर असलेलं जोशीबुवांच कर्ज ही फेडले आहे.
तात्या स्वामींचं यथासांग आदरातीत्थ्य करतो.
तात्या स्वामींना नेवैद्य ग्रहण करायला विनवतो. स्वामी म्हणतात- “अरे हा सर्व सोहळा तुम्ही भक्तांसाठी असतो.”
“भगवंताला पाहिजे असते ती भक्ताची खरी हृदयापासून केलेली भक्ती.”
“तुला जर आम्हाला काही द्यायचं असेल तर आम्हाला तांदळाच्या कण्या दे”.
तात्याची पत्नी स्वामींना तांदळाच्या कण्याची खीर देते. स्वामी आनंदानी खीर ग्रहण करतात.
श्री स्वामी म्हणतात- “अरे युग कोणचेही असो भगवंताला सुदामाचेच पोहे आवडतात!”

Joshi’s father was rich. He was very proud of his wealth.
A gentleman named Tatya Vaidya was working as his house-servant.
Because he had borrowed a lot of money from Joshi Bubu. Joshibu’s debt had cost him two meals.
He was generous though. Once Tatya and his wife had only one bread to eat, that too he gave to a starving dog.
Joshi’s father invites Sri Swami to come to his house to receive Nevaidya.
Sri Swami says to him- “There is wealth in money, but not in mind!” “Go first and bring the riches of the mind”.
Sundarabai stops Joshibubu on his way back and promises to bring Swami to your house.
In return, Sundarabai gets gold ornaments.
Sundarabai begs Swami to go to Joshibuva. Sri Swami knows Sundarabai’s actions, yet he nods.
When Tatya comes to know about this, he tells Joshi Buu that he also wants to invite Swami to his home.
He asks for some money for that. Joshibuwa jam flares up:- “O have no place to eat, and will call Swami.”
Tatya gets disappointed as Joshi Buu has not paid the money. The next day, Swami comes to Joshibuva.
Joshi Bua gives Swami a very expensive pitambar to wear, and is hospitable as usual.
A question arises in their mind whether Swami will take his expensive Pitambar with him.
At that, Swami gets angry, takes out pitambar and throws it on Joshya’s face. And Nevaidya returns without eclipse.
Joshi’s father comes to apologize.
Swami says – “Oh, your mind has become dirty by wallowing in wealth. Oh, what did you think we will take Nevaidya and take that pitambar? Come on, leave here.”
Tatya comes home and tells his wife about the whole matter.
A person comes there and frees the debt to Joshi Bu by giving the amount borrowed by Tata.
He tells Joshibuba that he is Tatya’s well-wisher. Tatya decides to entertain Swami with the money earned by selling the only idol in the house’s shrine.
He picks up the idol. His wife’s feelings are upset.
She says – “Deoghar somehow looks empty.”
Tatya says – “O Swami, when you are a living God, what do you think of the idol. I keep it on the side of the temple.”
What if you look down! There he finds a bag of gold coins.
Tatya says – “This is Swami’s miracle, after hosting Swami, we will offer the remaining amount to Swami.” Just then he hears a call-” Tatya………”
What if Tatya goes out and looks! Swami Balappa himself has not been invited to his house.
He holds his head with his wife.
Meanwhile, a man comes and tells Tatya that after the dispute over the land of your ancestors, you have got that land now, and besides, someone has paid off the debt owed to you by Joshibu.
Tatya gives hospitality to Swami as usual.
Tatya asks Swami to accept Nevaidya. Swami says – “Oh, all this ceremony is for you devotees.”
“What God wants is true devotion from a devotee’s heart.”
“If you want to give us anything, give us grains of rice”.
Tatya’s wife offers rice grain pudding to Swami. Swami happily consumes the pudding.
Sri Swami says – “Oh no matter who’s age, God loves Sudama’s swims!”
No matter who’s age, God loves Sudama’s Murmure!
